Phil is a member of the Docker Captains program and has broad experience in open source and the container ecosystem.
Phil speaks worldwide at industry and developer conferences as well as meetups on topics related to open source, Docker, and Linux container technology. Phil blogs regularly on these topics on at https://integratedcode.us and can be found on Twitter as @estesp.
While containers are still a new topic in some corners of the IT world, in many others-- especially those focused around "cloud native" development--containers have been revolutionary and effectively are the de facto build and packaging metaphor for software delivery. With the advent and popularity of Docker throughout the past four years, containers are now finding their way into other interesting software systems.
In this talk Phil will detail a future-looking vision by reviewing what's happening in the serverless and IoT spaces where we find containers providing the common unit of work in these new areas.
Phil will bring this point home--container technology’s applicability to these exciting areas--by performing a live demo that brings together serverless and IoT technologies to showcase the value that containers bring to these space.
